He was truly a remarkable man...not just in baseball, but in life. He took pride in everything he did...hitting a homerun or fixing a washing machine. His "handyman" ability spilled out in everything he touched. His personal life is as interesting as his baseball life! Oh, the stories we can tell about what Bingo, the man, was all about. He told us over and over he would have played ball for food alone. He was not into the limelight lifestyle...he never saved any baseball paraphernalia. He missed baseball right up unto the end of his life.<br />Again, thank you so much for the article! I'm sure he is swinging for that next homerun in his Field of Dreams! He died Nov. 13, 2010.
