I recently discovered a shop on Etsy that will interest everyone who loves baseball's design history. MoonlightWraps offers "vintage memorabilia handcrafted into Gallery Wraps", or printed canvasses stretched around wooden frames.
MoonlightWraps currently offers nearly a hundred vintage images re-created as wall hangings. Although those run the gamut from WPA posters to an apple crate label, the vast majority are sports-related and the vast majority of those are baseball score card covers, including two from our Brews.
The first is this beauty from 1944, featuring team mascot Owgust going up to snag a line drive. We took an in-depth look at this program back in October of 2012, and the cover remains one of my favorites.
This graphic was also used on the Brewers' pocket schedules that season.
MoonlightWraps is also selling a 10x14 wrap reproducing the cover of the Brewers' 1950 score card, with Owgust donning the Tools of Ignorance.
This version of Owgust was also re-used by the team, appearing on pocket schedules the following season.
These wraps are charming, and I'm going to order a set.
If we can demonstrate a market, perhaps MoonlightWraps will expand their Brewers offerings. The 1942, 1943, and 1947 score cards would be excellent choices for the next installment in this series, as would the 1943 or 1952 pocket schedules. Even the December 1944 issue of Brewer News might make a nice holiday-themed collectible.
Baseball has such a rich æsthetic legacy, it's always good to see it being valued and commemorated.
Best of luck to MoonlightWraps; I hope this line is very successful.

MoonlightWraps - 1945 Opening Day Ticket
We've talked before about the Etsy shop MoonlightWraps, which recreates historical baseball print materials on canvas. They've added a new Brewers item to their offerings, a reproduction of the club's 1945 Opening Day ticket.
This is based on the ticket stub we looked at a few years ago:
This wrap is ten inches by twenty, stretched over a 1.25" wood frame.
This brings the total number of MoonlightWraps' Brewer offerings to six:
Fantastic. Be sure to check them out. And remember, the more Brewers merchandise we buy, the more vendors like MoonlightWraps will produce.

More Goodness from MoonlightWraps
A few months ago, we talked about Brewers wall hangings from a company named MoonlightWraps.
At the end of that entry, I speculated that there were a ton of Brewers material they could use as inspiration for future products, including the club's 1943 programs. And sure enough, look what they've added to their roster:
This is one of my favorite covers, and they've done a great job replicating it on canvas.
They've also added the 1951 cover showing manager Charlie Grimm dressed as Owgust, the Beer Barrel Man.
Again, it's a very faithful reproduction of the original.
So now we have four classic Milwaukee Brewers programs re-created as canvas wall hangings. Check them out, along with the rest of MoonlightWrap's offerings, at their shop.

MoonlightWraps Strikes Again!
In two previous posts, we've discussed MoonlightWraps, the Etsy shop which sells old program covers as canvas wall hangings. As good as their offerings were before, they've just added a fifth Brewers wrap:
The newest one is based on the Brews' 1948 score card cover.
I love it. Great to see our Brewers getting so much play.
Make sure you check out all their offerings here. If we continue to buy American Association Brewers merchandise, they'll continue to make more.
